My ideas for some future paragon concepts

Discussion :spike:

A lot of people here are talking about ideas and sketches for future paragons, and I know a lot of people are anticipating the future with more of these paragons. So I’ll compile some of my own specific ideas for some paragons here, based on patterns we’ve seen. Note that any numbers I give are speculative estimates which I think sounds reasonable, and any balances on these numbers can be done later.

Glue Paragon:

* Fires massive blobs of glue to splat on a large number of bloons, slowing all affected ones by a large amount, like 90%, inflicting a +4 damage debuff, and deals both initial damage upon impact, say 100, and also great damage over time, say 20/0.5s for 8s. It can’t slow BADs or bosses and can’t detect camo, but more on that soon, because…

* Ability: a massive glue storm that inflicts glue to slow all bloons on screen to nearly a halt, like 95%, including camo, for about 30s, and BADs and bosses for a shorter time and less slowdown, like 10s. All bloons are inflicted with a greater damage debuff and more brutal damage over time effects. Kind of like the Fimbulwinter but applied to glue, except the ability activates faster. Visually you might see a massive wave of glue washing over the entire screen.

* Like the Ice Paragon, this would be good as a support rather than DPS.

Sniper Paragon:

* This paragon will have four guns. The first is a slow firing, say at a 2s rate of fire, but has massive damage, like 20,000 per shot, but only targets MOABs and bosses. The main target will have a +10 cripple debuff and stun the target for 1.5s (up to ZOMGs and DDTs), and even if it cannot be stunned, the debuff also lasts for 1.5s no matter the target. The attack hit will also create a shockwave around it that also damages (50), stuns (1s), and cripples (+4) nearby targets within a radius. This is the main attack and will follow the target priority.

* The other three guns are automatic rifles that fire incredibly fast (0.01s firing rate) but deal lesser damage, say 20, to targets, and release shrapnel recursively twice that ricochets to nearby targets and deal 6 damage then 2 damage, each time it releases eight smaller pieces of shrapnel. They are fixed to target priorities first, last, and strong.

* This will be especially strong against Vortex given its global range and bypass its shield with all of its attacks which deflects projectiles. The single target damage with the slow firing attack will be quite significant too, and work either shielded or unshielded.

Druid Paragon:

* Four main attacks: A barrage of thorns coming at bloons in massive quantities and collectively causing a great amount of DPS, regularly (like a 0.5s period) summon massive vines to appear anywhere and grab and instakill anything up to MOABs and BFBs in large quantities, slower firing rate (every 2s) tornadoes that split into smaller ones in different directions, and periodic (every 1s) massive balls of lightning that zap nearby bloons and may freeze them too.

* Two abilities. Ability 1: Summon a massive, slow-moving hurricane in a given direction to quickly and massively blow back all bloons (up to ZOMGs and DDTs) that touch it. Even bloons not touching the hurricane have a chance to be blown back towards the entrance while the hurricane is active thanks to the strong wind currents around it. Nothing will get past the hurricane. The hurricane lasts for about 10 seconds, and the cooldown might be 50 seconds.

* Ability 2: The weather is about to turn dark and stormy! Summon a devastating dark cloud across the screen that will zap bloons to damage and stun bloons underneath the cloud with fast and regular lightning attacks affecting a small area at a time for a duration, like 20s. The cloud will take 10s to come in and take effect. There will also be one massive lightning burst, halfway into the ability, that damages the whole screen, like 10,000 to all, and stuns everything for a short time, like 0.5s. For visuals, I would imagine the screen turning much darker during the ability with lightning bouts showing light, and during the massive burst, a flash across the whole screen takes place. Long ability cooldown, like 2 minutes.

* A wrath mechanic where you can monitor the Druid Paragon’s wrath. This is a wrath bar that increases while it attacks, from 0 to 10,000, like about 100/s. But it will decrease at a slower rate, like -20/s when it’s not attacking. Any lives lost will also increase the bar by a certain amount per life instantly (say 10 per life) and temporarily increase the rate of wrath gain to double while attacking. When the meter reaches maximum wrath, it will launch a passive ability to release a massive barrage of high-damage, high pierce thorns for 5 seconds in all directions and basically nearly obliterate the entire screen of bloons. Maximum wrath will take quite some time to reach, so be patient! Once this passive ability is over, it will stop attacking for a while as it takes the time (2s) to reset its wrath level back to zero.

* Based on the mechanics envisioned here, this might come to be one of the more expensive paragons there are, and it could be worth something like $700,000.
