In Jyotish, Prarabdha karma is not only shown by Saturn or Rahu-Ketu placements but can be traced through understanding the condition of 6th, 8th & 12th house & also where these signs fall in the chart - Virgo, Scorpio & Pisces. Because these are not comfortable zones of the chart as they represent what the soul has already lived, accumulated & not yet resolved.

6th house/Virgo carries the karma of service, conflict, disease & daily struggle. It shows what kind of obligations the soul must face in this lifetime in order to correct past imbalances. When planets or sensitive signs fall here, life repeatedly pushes the native into situations where effort is demanded without recognition. The 6th is where past mistakes return as duties. Virgo’s association here reflects unresolved issues of control, perfection, criticism & misuse of intellect in past lives. This is one of the reason why virgo ascendants are often seen as struggling in their life - they mostly meet people with whom they have their karmic knots connected.

8th house/Scorpio is the storehouse of deep past-life memories, trauma, secrecy, fear, & sudden transformation. It represents karma that cannot be avoided or negotiated. Scorpio governs this realm because Scorpio energy forces confrontation with what has been buried. When the 8th house or Scorpio is active, life brings intense emotional events, losses, betrayals or psychological upheavals - not to punish, but to strip the soul of attachments formed in previous lives.

12th house represents karmic residue that is ready to dissolve. It shows losses, isolation, withdrawal, foreign lands, sleep & liberation. Pisces rules this space because Pisces carries the memory of everything but belongs nowhere. This is where the soul repays debts not through action, but through surrender. Planets placed here often feel weakened in the material sense, yet they are working at a subtle level to complete unfinished cycles from past lives & ancestral roots.
Together, the 6th–8th–12th axis forms the triangle of Prarabdha. The 6th demands correction through effort, 8th demands transformation through pain or intensity & 12th demands release through detachment. When these houses or signs are strongly emphasized in a chart, the native often feels that life is heavier, more complicated, or inwardly intense but this is because the soul has come not to accumulate more karma but to finish old accounts.
