Throughout the series hisoka has always had to keep himself in check, whether he was allowing his “toys” to grow and ripen or he had to wait for the right time to get the 1v1 fights he desires

Each scenario and every time Hisoka has allowed his targets and others the freedom to play on their own terms, and resigned himself to react or respond to their schedules and choices even going so far as to allowing them to pick when they fight or how they fight or where they fight allowing them the chance to fight in their absolute perfect condition when they’re ready

He did this because he believed no matter what they did he would have the last laugh and his greatest pleasure is letting people do their absolute best efforts and then crumble when he inevitably defeats them in their own court and he looks down on them

However after his first loss with Chrollo that resulted in his death & resurrection he’s completely removed this aspect of himself when it comes to the spiders

Now hisoka intends to play for real, in his mind the reason he lost was because he let them decide the terms and fight only when they’re ready but now hisoka doesn’t give a shit, it doesn’t matter if you’re prepared or not it doesn’t matter if you’re able to be at your best or not

Hisoka will kill you whenever he wants, and he will play on his own terms, however he pleases, there’s no more mercy or grace anymore he will be as unhinged as possible and pluck his fruits regardless if they’re ripe or not, no more playing it safe

Even if he thinks he doesn’t enjoy “group” fights Hisoka might develop a new taste for his hedonism because during his fight with Chrollo and his horde of puppets he absolutely loved it, because he believed he was going to come out on top until the last second when he realised he was gonna die

This arc is going to have Hisoka at his absolute peak as a Villain whose doing it for purely the love of the game, for his pleasure, his pride and his ego, he’s his own man who doesn’t belong to anyone, unreserved with no allegiances, who has the power to do whatever he wants and

amidst the succession war he alone plays a solo game
