[Spoiler] Was I the only one dissapointed in the story of the Old Peace?

First of all. It looks great. It sounds great. It's a big spectacle and it's cool.
But the story itself? I felt a bit dissapointed.
It all boils down to, meeting a new character, barely getting to know them. Them dying. Then the game plays this big, sad music. And puts you in this slow depressing walking section. To try and make you feel emotional for a character you met an hour ago.
The things we learn about the sentients, and the flowers is kinda neat I guess. If a bit silly.
Oh and the plot twist, Ballas is an, asshole... again. Even after his death, he is still the main villain that keeps comming back.
