Cleaning question….

I have a Pitboss pellet smoker I picked up on marketplace.

Regarding the diffuser plate - do folk clean this or just let it char up?

Mines been in for 12 months at least and so far i haven’t cleaned the plate once.

I do sweep out ash etc…
