[illinois] laid off but company told IDES I’m still working full time

[Illinois] Question

I was employed through a recruiting company at an engineering firm. I was laid off, along with several others, on 11/20 due to financial issues with the engineering firm. I applied for unemployment on 11/20 as I did not work that day and my direct manager let me know 11/19 was my last paid day.

Fast forward to now, 12/13 when I received a letter from unemployment saying I need to fill out a form and show them pay stubs bc the recruiting company told them I was still working full time. I do not have pay stubs to show since… I have not worked. I’m not sure if the company just screwed up (they screw up a lot tbh) or if they’re trying to avoid paying out my unemployment, but I filled out the form and am awaiting a potential interview.

Has this happened to anyone before? I’m wondering if I need additional documentation or something to send in and also wondering how long it may take to be resolved considering I really need my unemployment pay.
