Investment Strategy Dilemma: High-Growth Markets vs Real Estate and Long-Term Mobility Options
I’m observing peak performance across most asset classes—PSX, crypto, and gold are near their highs—while some sectors, like real estate, are still lagging.
What do you think: Is this a good time to invest in these high-performing markets, or would real estate be a better option? What would you do?
Also, what would you do if you were in my position:
-
29 years old and unmarried
-
Own a modest inherited house (sufficient for basic needs)
-
Hold a Master’s degree from MIT
-
Have PKR 6 million in cash "not in hands but plot selling is no the way, make Dua for it"
-
Come from a middle-class background
-
Own a property generating PKR 12k/month rent, upgradeable with renovation
-
Own another property that could be upgraded to generate around PKR 15k/month rent.
-
Or can buy another rent generating property.
My goals are:
A. To achieve PKR 25k–40k in stable monthly income B. To maintain PKR 200k–2.5M in liquid cash, as I am considering a second passport from a European country with strong rule of law and a high quality of life
Additional context: If I do not move abroad, I am considering learning a practical, income-oriented skill (e-commerce, cybersecurity, etc.), but I am not strongly inclined toward studying, reading, or academic learning. I believe that going abroad on a study visa is not an effective path to wealth creation, yet I also recognize that I may have no other realistic option for relocation due to limited capital for investment-based residency.
Note: This is not an immediate plan. I currently live with my mother and do not intend to leave her for now, but I want to keep this option open.
Your opinion is valuable to me. Jazak’Allah.
