World-class player, third-class organisation!
About the Messi tour. Honestly, this mess came down to bad planning and zero crowd management. A few basic things could’ve prevented this:
-
No event without a clear public interaction plan If people are paying high prices, there should be a guaranteed viewing moment. Even a proper lap or big-screen coverage would’ve worked.
-
Strict zone segregation VIPs, organisers, media and security should not be crowding the player. The pitch should’ve been completely clear.
-
Clear communication beforehand People travelled from different states. If it was only a symbolic appearance, that should’ve been clearly stated.
-
Professional crowd control This needed trained event security, not cops adding to the chaos.
-
Capped tickets and controlled entry Overselling without proper infrastructure was reckless.
-
Yes, civic sense matters, but management failed first When people feel cheated, anger is predictable. Prevention matters more than blame.
-
Keep politics out of global events. International events Politicians crowding a global sports icon is peak unserious behaviour.
India can host big events, but only when ego, politics and mismanagement stay out.
