Why 401jk caught my attention

Lately I’ve been thinking about how broken the whole retirement system feels…

We were told to trust 401ks, keep contributing and everything would work out. But for a lot of people, that promise doesn’t feel real anymore. Retirement keeps moving further away, markets feel increasingly manipulated, and most of us don’t feel like we actually control our future.

And that is why 401jk stood out to me.

It’s not pretending to fix retirement in the traditional sense. It’s more like a response to the idea that the old system isn’t working. Instead of institutions and complex products, it’s built on community belief and participation.

The name itself is a commentary - not accidental. It pokes at the idea that we’re supposed to blindly trust the same systems that feel stacked against us. And honestly…it’s refreshing that it doesn’t hide behind buzzwords or fake guarantees.

Bitcoin actually started the same way - as a belief that the system was broken. 401jk feels like that same kind of cultural reaction, but aimed at retirement.

I think this has huge potential. Given how broken and manipulated crypto feels right now, it makes sense that people are looking to pure-belief assets. When trust in institutions breaks down, conviction becomes the driver.
