Unsure about Khao Soks guided tours…opinions!?

Hi everyone! I would appreciate your advise. I have googled and tried to find some opinion on Reddit but could not really find, what I was looking for. So my boyfriend and I are going to Thailand in February for three weeks. This is our second trip to Thailand and we are planning a four night stay in Khao Sok village, mainly because we love nature and hiking and would love to see some of Thailands jungles. (the lake also looks amazing!!) However, now that I have done some research, I found that it is impossible to really enter the national park without a guide and go for hikes alone. And here comes the problem: we usually love travelling individually and while I would rather be alone, I would also be okay with having a guide with us on one or two tours, my boyfried hates the idea of having a guide (he also hates any kind of guided city walks or group activities…😅) We are now wondering if it would be a stupid idea to go to Khao Sok because my bf would just hate it or if it’s bearable being with a guide when entering the national park. Does anyone have similar feelings and experiences with this? Or do you have any other suggestions, where we could go? (Not Chiang Mai since we did not like it so much last time…) Our itinerary is: Bangkok > Khao Sok > Koh Yao Noi/Koh Yao Yai > Koh Lanta (we’ve been there last time and it was our absolute favourite) > Bangkok Thank you!!! 💕
