my crush is graduating this year and i never had an interaction with them before and i don't even know if they're gay

I'm 16F in 10th grade, my crush's (17F) in 12th and graduating this year. i've liked them since 7th grade and haven't been able to talk to them at all. i only know their first and last name. i tried finding them on social media, even finding mutual friends and so and still couldn't find them, i tried making more friends that could possibly introduce me to my crush and it still hasn't worked. i want to be friends with them at the very least before they graduate. this first semester is ending around January.

It's very difficult to be attracted to the same sex around here because it's a muslim country with mostly conservative standards. i don't know if my crush is even attracted to girls let alone someone that looks like me. i see them with prettier girls as their friends and it's like even if me and my crush were friends i'd definitely have no chance but i really just wanna know i could do it, so if anyone can help, please do
