Appreciation Post for a Indigo Staff member

General discussion

I booked a ticket from Hyderabad to Bangkok from a German third-pary website ( I hold a German Passport). Unfortunately, the website didn't take my Last name while booking. I usually check this but somehow it didn't come in my radar (may be the excitement!?). Anyways, when I went to the Indigo counter to check-in the guy said my "middle"  name is missing in the booking. Alas, all my plans to visit Thailand for the first time ever need to wait another day (or so I thought!).

Saurav, the manager there and his team did an amazing job. His colleague (a local guy who speaks Telugu) tried to move mountains of paper work, running all around at the airport. All this time, we (my friend was waiting for me) were waiting like school kids who got kicked out of classroom as a punishment. The clock is ticking...

After so many back and forths and at least 5 pictures taken on my a German passport and many more questions (do I need a visa, do I have a return ticket, Do I have an OCI, etc.), I was finally let go. The immigration office understood my plight and checked all my documents, at the security, I saw a couple of flight attendants and asked them if they are taking the same flight - they said yes and I don't need to worry as we 'have a lot of time' - that's something someone with like me OCD can never fathom :) But I was more relaxed after they said that!

I am aware of the current situation. I have seen some videos where people were literally shouting at the staff. But these people are Frontline warriors - working hard to make sure that you reach your destination irrespective of whether it is for work, leisure or meeting family. This post is to appreciate all those front line warriors being the face of companies taking a lot of pressure all while keeping a smile on their face and trying their level best to make sure that you reach your destination!

Thank you Saurav and team!! 🙏🙏
