unique scam with F&F

So I feel quite cheated. I wanted to buy some audio equipment from a so called ,,friend’’ who wanted to sell me a tape recorder.

I was going on a trip abroad and was not able to pick it up from him, so we decided that he would send it to my address as he was also going away and My neighbor would pick it up for me.

I sent the money through paypal f&f and he never answered me or responded seems he just disappeared off the face of the earth.

He wasnt a close friend but a friend of a friend. I thought using that payment method was adequate for the situation.

Would it be possible to get back my 300€ or did i lose it, I payed with revolut debit card thru paypal . I know the whole thing seems like a dumb play on my part, and I should have known better but i was desperate for this piece of equipment and a bit mentally vulnerable
