i want more friends but hate making them
ive had a small group of 3 for years now and i've never felt the need to make new friends, but we've been drifting apart recently, so i decided it was time to take the plunge, and i forgot how hard it is to actually make friends
i got this girls number over one conversation where we found we had a shared interest, and we had a decently lengthy convo about it over text when we got home from college (we're in a creative media course). yesterday i messaged her about it and i got a quick, short response and left on read after my response
i realise now that i have no idea how to talk with someone over text or call if we aren't already close, and i hate not knowing if you're annoying them or if they don't wanna return the conversation. i'm also the only one initiating the conversations, but i understand that some people are just like that and i don't think it's a big deal, partly because i used to be like that but would still love to talk to whoever messaged me. the process is just so excruciating man like i hate not knowing what other people are thinking but with close friends that isnt really an issue
