Thee popcorn of my little bambino popper has a stale texture, any ideas?

So I just bought a little bambino popper from great northern and after I made the first batch the popcorn felt like it was stale, it tasted good but the texture was like chewing on a rubber band and the "core" of the popcorn became flat and uneatable, help!
