We urgently raise a serious concern regarding the discriminatory supplementary exam fees and their severe impact on student mental health at LBSIM, Delhi.
Financial and Mental Distress:
77 first-trimester students face backlogs.
The institute is charging an exorbitant ₹8,000 per supplementary subject for first-year students, compared to only ₹1,000 for second-year students—a stark and unexplained difference.
Similarly, revaluation fees are disproportionate (₹2,000 vs. ₹500).
The high cost (up to ₹40,000 for some) combined with a strict December 13th payment deadline is imposing extreme financial hardship, anxiety, and mental stress.
Neglect of Grievances:
Repeated, structured attempts by CRs and the Student Council to negotiate a fee reduction have been ignored, with the Director allegedly refusing dialogue.
Students attempting to resolve the issue are being redirected between departments or bluntly told to "pay the fee or don't sit for the exam."
Mental Health Crisis:
The institute's lack of communication, empathy, and fair consideration has directly led to a mental health crisis among students. Many are experiencing extreme anxiety and helplessness, making it difficult to focus on their studies. This distressing environment, fueled by perceived injustice (e.g., failing students by narrow margins to extract fees), requires immediate and compassionate intervention to safeguard the students' well-being.
