Saying an early goodbye to my boy
Hey, everyone. This more of a vent than anything.
We recently got a little 3.5 month boy, he was absolutely feral when we got him, he kept biting and scratching and all the works, within 2 weeks though, all that changed. It took a lot of effort, and a lot of biting, but he hardly ever wants to leave our shoulders now.
Due to our inexperience, and the deplorable conditions he was kept in before we got him, we didn't know that he was sick when we first got him. He kept getting worse.
Unfortunately, there are no avian vets in my country as far as i'm aware. All vets I called in a 30km radius refused to see him. So, I just had to rely on the advice of hobbyists and pet store owners.
He got a little better, but that's it. He barely eats anymore. He's always asleep. He loves to sleep on my shoulder, and I let him sleep on it all day. If that will provide some comfort to him, then I'm willing to sacrifice a few shirts.
I know that it's time to say goodbye to him, soon at least, and I hope that I've shown that little guy some comfort and love in his final days.
