Really need some support and advice guys
I’m honestly at my breaking point and really hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or can offer some direction.
I’ve had right-side abdominal discomfort for over two years now and it’s there every single day. It’s not a sharp stabbing pain, more like a constant gnawing or pressure feeling that never fully goes away. Some days I can push through it, other days it completely takes over my mood, focus, and ability to function.
The most frustrating symptom by far is the excessive belching. I belch constantly every single day no matter what I eat or drink. I can wake up, take a sip of plain water, and immediately start belching. Any amount of exercise makes it way worse, even light activity. Stress and anxiety also clearly make the belching flare up. Sometimes the episodes are nonstop and overwhelming.
There’s a very obvious connection between the belching and the right-side discomfort, but what’s confusing is that burping does not relieve the pain at all. I see so many people say their discomfort improves after they burp, but for me it never fully goes away. The pressure just stays there and it’s driving me insane.
I also deal with bloating and reflux and will taste food I ate earlier in the day for hours. I’ve tried PPIs like Nexium and antacids. They help the acid a little but don’t touch the belching or the right-side discomfort.
Another piece that might matter is constipation. A lot of the time my stools are very dry and come out as small pellets or hard balls. When I finally have a more normal-shaped bowel movement, it’s usually after days of being backed up and everything still feels extremely dry. Even after going, it never feels like I fully evacuated, and it doesn’t relieve the right-side discomfort at all. I’ve been taking Benefiber to try to help, but it honestly doesn’t seem to do anything for me.
For background, I recently had my gallbladder removed. I never had gallstones, but pathology showed chronic inflammation. I’m not upset I had it removed because something was clearly wrong, but the surgery did not fix the right-side pain. It feels basically the same as before.
After surgery I had some diarrhea at first, which I expected, but now things are more irregular and backed up rather than diarrhea. Still not normal.
I’ve had years of GI appointments, tests, scopes, and medications and I still don’t have a clear answer. I keep being told GERD, gastritis, anxiety, or that everything looks normal, yet I wake up every day dealing with this and can’t ignore it.
This is affecting my day-to-day life badly. It’s exhausting physically and mentally, and I’m honestly worn down from living like this without answers.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit. I just want to know if anyone has experienced something like this or found answers. Especially if you’ve had right-sided pain that didn’t go away after gallbladder removal, excessive belching triggered by stress or exercise, constipation that never feels fully relieved, or conditions like SIBO, bile reflux, functional dyspepsia, or something else that presented this way. If a specific test or treatment finally helped you, I’d really appreciate hearing about it.
I just want my life back
