Guy kept insisting the rules didn’t apply to him and would not take no for an answer
I was waiting in line at a small local place when a guy walked in and immediately went past everyone straight to the counter. The worker politely told him there was a line and he’d need to wait like everyone else. He laughed and said he was “in a hurry” and that it would only take a second, like that somehow changed anything. When they said no again, he looked genuinely confused, like this was a brand new concept to him.
Instead of backing off, he doubled down hard. He started explaining how he’s a regular, how he spends a lot of money there, how they should make an exception just this once. People in line were clearly annoyed but stayed quiet, and he kept glancing around like someone would jump in and agree with him. When the employee didn’t budge, he got irritated and said the rules were stupid and that they were being difficult for no reason at all.
What really got me was how confident he was that pushing harder would work. Like no didn’t actually mean no, it just meant argue more and talk louder. Eventually he stormed out muttering about bad service, leaving everyone else kinda stunned. The rest of us waited maybe five more minutes total. All that drama over not wanting to hear a simple answer.
