Roommate was picking favourites with our pets so I got him back pettily

Basically, this roommate recently got a kitten. You can kind of tell from the way he looks and how he acts that he got her because he was jealous me and my other roommate’s cats are so clingy and cuddly with us, and how big they are now. So when him and his mom brought home the kitten, they were emphasizing that the kitten is his, not ours.

The mom kept yoinking the kitten while she’s sleeping to put her in that roommate’s room, only for her to leave soon after. She gets mad that the kitten is always handing out with me and the other roommate, and not him.

Then yesterday I hear him getting mad that his litter box is full of the other cats litter and not his kitten’s, and so he closed his room when he left to work this time. Like, we have two litter boxes, which is technically too few as we have 3 cats, but our cats don’t mind sharing the litter box. In a sense he’s just complaining that he has to pick up after the other cats and not his own. Only his own cat is allowed to poop in his room.

So out of petty spite I took a piece of poop from the litter box in my room and slipped it into his litter box when he was gone to work. No cats or humans were harmed in the making, honestly only thing this does is make his litter box have the other two cats’ pheromones on it which would just encourage his kitten to potty there anyways.

Segregating the litter boxes would only make the cats fight too.. and I didn’t want that.
