Sung Jin-Woo aura farms more than Chihiro (Kagurabachi, Solo Leveling

Anime & Manga

Critics claim that Solo Levelling is brain-dead slop, but there’s a hidden depth for those who can see what wasn’t meant to be seen.

Solo Leveling is about the loss of humanity as one grows in power, which could be seen as a social commentary of the amassed power enabled within a post-Reagan society. He’s One Punchian in that regard, although Solo Levelling is better because it executes that theme in a more subtle manner.

Even though the characters are more one-note (that’s intentional, it lets Sung Jin Woo shine even brighter),they still have some interesting character designs. My favourite character was that many-limbed character covered in leaves that often appeared during the forest scenes.

Now, take a look at Chihiro.

While he does have some badass aura moments with his fighting, and chilling behind minor villains like a horror antagonist, he just has too many aura-loss moments to compare with Sung Win-Won.

He gives food to a little girl, which is a massive loss in aura. Firstly, I’m a selfish bastard that would never feed a child, making him unrelatable. Secondly, according to My, aura-farmers have to be edgy assholes (My, 46).

Another massive aura loss is Chihiro being gay for Hakuri. I don’t have anything against gays (I can’t be a homophobe, my drunk self is gay), but as a straight male, I cannot relate to him. As I’ve alluded to before, aura-farmers should be relatable.

The ideal aura-farmer is lazy, named Bubhead/Sung-Jin Woo, and has a harem of sexy adult women (Admittedly I don’t have that yet, I gotta wait for them to age up first).

In summary, Sung Jin-woo sweeps.
