Can i ask dentist to remove braces

He removed 4 teeth (2 on each side) and put in braces but i would rather just have the braces gone so it doesnt narrow my pallete. Im not that educated on the topic but im pretty sure it narrows pallete. What can I do? can i just ask him to remove braces, which is what i want to do but im curious as to what will happen to the gaps that are now in my teeth.
