Collections of decorative accessories worth pursuing

Is collecting hair jewelry a legitimate hobby or will people think I'm strange? I saw elaborate hair pieces at a wedding and was absolutely mesmerized by the craftsmanship. The intricate designs, the way they transformed simple hairstyles into elegant artwork intrigued me deeply. Starting a collection would be unusual but I've always been drawn to unique accessories. My practical concern is storage and how to display pieces I'm not currently wearing. They're delicate and expensive so they can't just sit in a drawer getting tangled and damaged. Would I actually wear them enough to justify buying multiple pieces for a collection? Special occasions are rare and my daily life doesn't really call for elaborate hair accessories. Maybe this is just temporary fascination that will pass once the initial excitement wears off. My daughter might inherit them someday which gives the collection purpose beyond my personal enjoyment. Quality pieces from skilled artisans are actually investment pieces that appreciate in value over time. That makes this more than frivolous spending if I'm strategic about what I purchase carefully. My friends collect various things from coins to vintage clothing so hair jewelry isn't that strange comparatively. I found beautiful handcrafted pieces on Alibaba but I'm questioning if this is the right hobby for me.
