Weird req, but after a book where fmc genuinely betrays the mmc

I want a book/AO3/wattpad or whatever site’s rec where the fmc genuinely betrays the mmc or his family, friends or someone close to him. Maybe he gets sent away to jail or whatever bcos of her and he comes back years later and extracts revenge. I hate the miscommunication/ misunderstanding trope. It’s hardly ever done well.
