How to kill a coward king?

TLDR: Halthdar won’t engage in the war effort and to get rid of him I have to spend months following him around killing Looters… bored out of my mind.

Decided to try and take over the Nords instead of making a new kingdom since I just did in my last play through and I’ve actually never taken over a faction before.

Well, this absolute coward of Halthdar just declares war on the empire and the Kuzaits and spends his time all the way up north in Balgard with his 250 strong security detail hunting bandit parties of 5. Meanwhile I’m holding the line against the horse people constantly trading Tyal and the same 2 castles that he insists on giving to me since I loose them constantly to 2000 Khuzait armies (seriously do horses grow on trees for them or something?).

The man looks more like a European king with his shiny untouched armor, hunting in the countryside than a real Viking raider. Pushing 80 BTW and still holding on to this life since he is clearly not getting into Valhalla and knows it.

I have even ignored the frontline and followed him on his glorious liberation of the Balgard countryside. Try to “help” him in battle (when I can since the 5 looters last a hole second against the 250 army and most of the time I can’t even enter the battle on time) but the man seems to survive every “stray arrow” that happen to find him. Not to mention the solid 5-10 minutes I have to spend looking for him after the battle in the mosh pit since he goes on foot and looks pretty much like another huscarl.

At this point I’m bored out of my mind of spending in game months following him for this. If he participated in the war at least I could have fun while I try to retire him early.

Plus in other news, after another glorious victory against Larry and his 4 looter mates, I get the notification that Battania is no more. Vlandia is steamrolling the continent… you know, having fun playing the game and stuff, what I wanted to do. But no the looter population is way more important to take care of.

How can I speed this up. I’m not even sure if I would be elected if he croaked. I have tons of money and okey relations with a few other clans since I always vote for them to get the castles (I get them anyway since you know… I have 0 most of the time).

I’m close to just scraping the campaign and staring over to be honest.
