Guilt is killing me

I made a terrible mistake and my guilt is killing me, I hurt someone very close to me and all I can think of now is ending my life. I came clean with that person, and they are really hurt but are trying to move on, but I just want to end it all. I feel like I don’t deserve any compassion, the regret and guilt is tearing me apart.
