Fictillis

“Hey!” Fictillis shouted as he glanced around the void of darkness quickly. “What the hell is this?”

Laughter surrounded him from the void, echoing around Fictillis as the Son was illuminated some distance away from Fictillis.

“Fictillis, Fictillis, Fictillis. You are an interesting Eonvym indeed.” The Son kept laughing softly as he stepped forward, beginning a slow walk towards the Eonvym.

“I am a great Eonvym! Of course I am interesting!” Fictillis snapped at the Son, not surprising the Son.

“You have much to learn about greatness, little Eonvym. In time, however, you can be great.” The Son chose his words carefully to bait the man.

Fictillis, blinded by his pride, shouted out again in rage and charged at the Son, letting two flaming swords appear in his hands as he readied himself to strike.

Two black eyes formed in front of the Son’s helmet’s eyes while the area around him glowed a light blue and he leaned his body forward, seemingly vanishing from existence. Fictillis reached the spot where the Son was a second ago and looked around, huffing in anger and confusion as smoke rose off his suit. The sound of crackling electricity began around Fictillis and he began looking around quickly, eager to find his opponent. The Son appeared behind Fictillis, emerging from a multitude of lighting strikes around himself that grazed and burnt Fictillis.

“Come here you fu-” Before Fictillis could finish his thoughts, the Son let his front left arm forward to the Eonvym's neck and lifted Fictillis up into the air.

Thin blue currents of energy connected the Son’s golden claw-tips to Fictillis’ neck, the Son making sure not to actually touch the lower Eonvym, as he threw the furious Fictillis away from his position, into the darkness.

As Fictillis was thrown, the world emerged into the brightness of day as he was slammed against a podium fixed to the ground, now standing before the scene of a cheering crowd, a crowd mixed with Shaikyn and Human suits. Fictillis, at the sight of the crowd and the non-flattering sight of himself, shook his head and straightened himself out while looking out to the crowd.

“Calm now?” The Son asked while walking out from behind Fictillis and around the podium to face him, seeming to Fictillis as though he emerged from nowhere.

“Hardly.” Fictillis tried to hold his composure before the crowd, wanting to look his best for his ‘people’ as his brain was twisted into believing this was real.

“Good. I see you enjoy this attention. I see in you a thirst for recognition and power,” The Son spoke in a soft voice while he waved his hand out to the crowd, gently waving to the imaginary people. “I feel like you enjoy the cheering. Do you enjoy the people cheering for you?”

Fictillis watched the crowd of Shaikyns cheering and chanting his name, finding it soothing and it made him content.

“I do enjoy the cheering.” He answered the Son, the stronger Eonvym grinning as Fictillis' soul now became vulnerable to him.

“Well, that is good, because this could be yours. I can give you a station filled with shrines for people to worship you. I can give you the money, the people, the praise! There’s only one thing you must do for me, little Eonvym.” The Son nodded at Fictillis while putting his hands behind his own back again.

“What is it?” Fictillis wondered while he studied the Son’s golden helmet, a sliver of annoyance striking his chest at the little Eonvym comment.

“Bring Kilegros to Mars. Do that, and it will all be yours.”

“I can do that. .”

“Good,” The Son nodded to Fictillis as he looked back out to the crowd. “I knew I could rely on a future King.”

King. Fictillis took a liking to that title already.

The world began to close in around them in the darkness before, swallowing them whole in the void.

Chapter 8 - Ahri

Ahri was keeping herself calm by singing old lullabies to herself from her parents' pirate crew as she walked through the void, unsure of what this place was that she was in. Verses of battles, glory, and plunder from the Shipping Lane Wars were listed out as her fingers twitched around her waist as a small compartment was already open and a sidearm was ready to be drawn.

“Is anyone there?” She called out into the darkness as she stopped her quiet singing.

She never got an answer but the more she walked, the more she heard the noises of people in the distance.

“Hey!” She shouted while walking until she hit some barrier in the void, falling backwards.

She gritted her teeth and stood up, feeling the barrier in front of her and finding it to be fairly slimy and she could easily push her hand into it. Grossed out but not finding any other way, Ahri tried ripping the barrier open. She managed to split it apart a little, a blinding flash of light pouring into the void from the other side of the barrier. The Shaikyn kept trying to open the barrier, soon making a small hole but the scene past the barrier was too blurry to make anything out in the light. She pulled out her sidearm and looked at the small holographic display on the side, seeing it had only three rounds in the magazine, so she slid it back into the holster.

“Ugh this is about to suck.” Ahri shook her head before backing up and jumping at the hole, managing to make it halfway before having her back arms push her the rest of the way through the barrier.

She fell from the ceiling of a tall room, taking a few seconds before landing on some long dining table in a well-lit room with a loud thud followed by the clatter of plates and other dishes.

The gasps of people came from around her as he got to her feet while on the table, surrounded by Shaikyns and Eonvym all dressed in royal clothing and sharing a meal together.

“There she is!” A voice called from behind her. “Excuse her everyone, this is our lovely guest of honor!”

Ahri turned around and saw the Son lounging across a couch at the end of the room, a glass of red wine in his hand but his body still dressed in his uniform unlike the other Eonvym around Ahri. Before she could speak, his voice filled the room again.

“Everyone! This is Ahri. Friend of Kilegros.”

“I am no friend of Kilegros.” Ahri warned, daring to raise her voice to the Son as she took a defensive step back, her hand lowering to her holster.

“Of course you aren’t, dear. But you are an accomplice! You’ve aided him along his journey as of now.” The Son’s gaze snapped away from his scarlet wine and to her as she felt an overbearing aura come from him.

“Well having a second Eonvym is rather helpful when you’re a wanted criminal.” Ahri tried to resist the aura, but she couldn't help but feel weak now as he broke down her soul slowly but surely.

“Come now Ahri, you are smart and know what would happen if you turned him in. I will grant you all the riches I can bestow upon you while erasing all the records of your faults against the Empire. The Lane Wars? I did not see anything! The incident on TF-C1? Nothing there!” The Son laughed cheerily and stood to his feet, snapping his golden and clawed hand into a fist, crushing the wine glass and letting the crimson liquids drip onto the ground.

“You think you can trick me, Eonvym?! My mind will not break!.” Ahri stood straight in defiance while being able to resist the temptation of the Son, much to his surprise.

“Then let me persuade you in an alternate way. Unless you are to hand the Eonvym over to me, I can take your most prized possession. Your own family.” The Son walked out to her and tapped her visor with one of his golden claws, filling her mind with the image of Fictillis’ body shredded apart beneath another Eonvym with a golden axe and Tobias’ frame next to him with a Shaikyn ripping out the Hydra’s core-mind from his chest.

“If you’re so powerful, why not take him now?” Ahri broke away from his claw and shook her head, her mind wanting to fight back but she couldn’t command her body to attack him.

“To do so in a public light would not be beneficial to me. My political representation of my father would be ever so tainted by such actions and I seek not to have that happen, my dear. This is merely a formality. Before I need to take actions into my own hands and maybe some other things.” The Son stared down at her and snarled, not seeming to take kindly to the accusations of him being weak.

“You won’t take anything from me! Release me!” Ahri shouted at him as the aura left from her and she got a breath of calmness. The world closed in around her into the void she was in before. The last thing she saw was the Son’s mask’s cold eyes.
