How to handle finding out a girl you like is taken? 20M single

I feel like rejection hurts a fraction of finding out she’s taken, usually in a story or obviously on February 14th. Unless you already see her with a guy at first glance.

Like when I find out she already has a partner, it hits a thousand times harder than her simply being uninterested, especially when I’ve been reaching out for some time but haven’t made a move. I’m just not ready to face this, compared to her simply being uninterested.

I find it way harder to move on especially that I put in a lot of thought in picking a girl I like and don’t just text a lot of girls at once. That once I decide on one I will make a move after a few exchanges and I’m committed. I attach very easily once I decide I like her
