Why does everyone assume that Hyoni and Alessandro never made it to Morocco?

In the show, at the beginning of the episode, they clearly say: Purtroppo, Hyoni e Alessandro sono dovuti rientrare in Italia..., i,e. they had to return to Italy... The implication being they did fly to Morocco and then had to fly back.

So why every discussion on this topic just assumes they never made it to Italy? Is there any information to contradict what was said in the show? Am I missing something?
