The repair shop 'fixed' my hinges on L540 but now it's fawcked

Hardware Upgrade

I bought this L540 thinkpad few weeks ago, I noticed it had a bad display but I took it cuz the price was good. Now I ended up with this, I want to fix the hinge but the repair shop glued it with some kind of hard epoxy or sth I'm not sure how to remove it.

I'm looking to force the lid out and make this a headless build, but do you guys have any tips? I don't really care about the hinges now, replacing the whole lid is not worth it. I just want a headless build but Idk how to get rid of the glue.

PS: The glue does not seem to melt under heat, i tried to dissolve it with 99% ethanol but not working either, I'm considering breaking the lid just to get rid of it but I want a better solution than that.
