Nothing Knew
I was arrested once, tried and convicted with little fan faire. The things they said about me were right, but at the same time they were so wrong.
The caught me due to routine. It wasn't laziness or being sloppy it was necessity. I had done the same thing at the same time every day for months. They had watched me do it for days. Made for a short trial and the sentencing long.
At the sentencing hearing the judge asked me how I could kill my own son. He was not happy when I told him, he wouldn't understand.
My cellmate asked me why I would go back and check on the body every day, how I could risk getting caught by being so stupid. I told him, he wouldn't understand.
When the priest read me my last nights on the night before my execution he then asked why I would I would lift the body daily. Why would I be so stupid as to as to follow a routine like I did. I told him, he wouldn't understand.
They strapped me to the gurney and put the IV in. The curtain was drawn back and I saw my ex wife and other kids, extended family members and people I did not know who they were.
The warden asked me if i had any last words, before they carried out the sentence. And I told them, I just wanted to see if there was anything new under the son.
