Does anyone experience their extended family members heavily suggesting difficult career fields for you?
In my family, there is a high number of people in well-paying, respected fields such as medicine or law. Given my cognitive limits, I obviously haven't done well in university (but I do hope and expect to graduate in a social science major by the end of 2026). Since it's Christmas break, family members are calling my parents a bit more often than usual, and it's a terribly awkward conversation for my parents since the children of my aunts and uncles are medical doctors lawyers, or pharmacists. I mean, I know that some of my cousins aren't super successful academically speaking, but the ones who are and have top tier jobs do make me look pretty bad in comparison.
I guess I can't change much about my own life besides grinding away at my remaining classes, but I'm curious how any of y'all deal with having inferior achievements in comparison to those of your family members and the expectations of extended family members.
