Arthur was just as mean to D.W. In the early seasons.

I know a lot of people say d.w. is an annoying little brat which I don't disagree with, but I think Arthur was just as much of a jerk to her as the other way around in the first three seasons. First there's the fact that he belittles her interest even though they're perfectly normal for a kid her age. Secondly, and this is one I brought up a lot is the way he acted in the picky eater episode. First he bragged about her tantrum to grandma Thora and was happy about her being excluded from the birthday dinner at the once upon a restaurant but then got disappointed when Thora considered cancelling it if d.w. couldn't come even though it was his grandma's birthday not his. Then he and his friends try to get her to like spinach the one food she dislikes which I think is both insensitive to picky eaters, and hypocritical since he and his friends are at that age where they think vegetables are yucky. I especially felt he and Francine went too far by feeding Kate spinach and calling her a big girl for eating it unlike d.w. as I'm positive what they did reopened d.w.'s jealousy towards Kate and caused her resentment of her in the go to your room episode. Speaking of the go to your room d.w. episode while d.w. was yelling at Kate for breaking her doll Arthur just sat there and did nothing while trying to watch TV which certainly doesn't make him big brother of the year in my book. I also think it's sad that despite having friends like Francine and Muffy he still prefers their company over his own sister's. He even admitted himself that her getting stuck in the tree in d.w. blows the whistle was partly his fault even though he didn't have to. You could argue all those times he was just getting back in d.w. for all the shit she pulled on him beforehand but I still think he was a jerk but I'm looking for any counter arguments.
