Should I text him first after an amazing first date, or give it more time? (30F/29M)

I (30F) went on a really great first date with a guy (29M). Throughout the date he showed clear interest — he paid for dinner, walked me to my car, complimented me, and said he’d love to do a second date. He didn’t try to kiss me, but he asked me to text him when I got home. I did, we exchanged a few messages, and I ended the convo by liking his last text since it didn’t really need a response. He also said (once again by his own initiation) he was excited to see me again.

It’s now been two full days and I haven’t heard from him. We met spontaneously from an app and didn’t text at all before the date, so I don’t have a pattern to compare this to. I’m normally pretty secure, but I can feel some anxious attachment kicking in. Part of me wants him to reach out first, but I also don’t believe it always has to be the guy.

Should I text him, or wait another day or two & see what happens?

How long would you wait till you decide you’re not interested &/or to text him yourself?
