In my 30s and caring for a parent with advanced and mostly likely terminal cancer. What is reasonable to expect from friends.

Caregiver

I'm in my 30s and one of the first out of my friends that is caring for a parent with a terminal illness. I've been very careful with trying not to disturb anyone with any graphic details or really many details at all. I've had friends that I will listen to them talk at length about any problem they have-not even say "hey let me know if you need anything". They just say "sorry to hear that" etc. It's been very disheartening to have this experience. I don't want to sound like I'm making this about me-because obviously the most important person is my parents with cancer but support from friends and family are important and I don't feel like I have much. I'm not sure if I'm being unreasonable or it just is what it is.
