Why does everyone hate the Johto Level Curve?

I found the level curve to be enduring and non linear which is a breath of fresh air cause games like Black and White are linear asl so if u deviate from the beaten path in These games u will have a great time and also dont put so many pokemon on tour team so early. I always tell niggas that by Morty, u shoild have max 4 pokemon in your party
