Are muslims really free to choose their own religion and beliefs?
The apostate is not to be put to death immediately after he falls into apostasy, especially if has doubts. Rather he should be asked to repent and be offered the opportunity to return to Islam and resolve his doubts, if any. If he persists in his apostasy after that, he is to be put to death.
I believe most scholars agree with this take, so how exactly are muslims born into muslim societies or families, who were pushed into Islam since childhood have the right to choose their own beliefs. Doesn't this contradicts with:
Let there be no compulsion in religion
Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 256
My post have been removed from r/Islam, so I'm hoping for a clarification from u guys, hopefully u won't remove it either
