Requesting Secondment 3 Months Into Role

Started on a graduate scheme in tax in September at a mid-tier firm and, while the work has been okay, I haven’t felt as though it’s fulfilling me entirely. I have always wanted work in corporate finance and was thinking about requesting a secondment to the Transaction Advisory Services department.

It’s only been 3 months but would this be too early to speak to my manager about this move? People from my team have previously moved to TAS but they were a year or 2 into the role. If I were to move, I’d also have to change qualification to ACA from the ATT/CTA pathway, so I’m presuming I’d have to join the next September cohort for the ACA exams, but they might allow me to start working before then.
