Superspeed with a catch

I’m thinking of making a character, Blink, who has super speed but only while his eyes are closed. The idea here is to make him rely on his other senses, which are only slightly enhanced. His reflexes are just fast enough where he can dodge a few machine gun bursts, but can’t dodge lasers/rockets without “blinking” which is when he closes his eyes for the tiniest fraction of a second in order to utilize Flash-like reaction times, effectively giving him an active 200 degree field of spider senses, though he still has to see the attack with his eyes open before closing them to react. He primarily fights using tonfas, and a hybrid between Daredevil’s sensory spatial awareness, and Toph’s “echo location, via micro vibrations” in addition to his blinking he can also dash short distances with his eyes completely shut(or longer bursts in large open areas) and while he can technically open his eyes mid-dash, he instantly loses his ability to control himself and becomes subjected to the laws of physics meaning he can’t change direction or instantly decelerate, essentially, he becomes conscious of the fact that he’s traveling much faster than humanly possible, but has zero control over it–to him it feels as if you strapped yourself to the front of a rocket. he is just barely peak human with his eyes open and scales to high street-tier to low wall. Thoughts?
