36 [M4F] - #Kansas/Missouri - Seeking good conversation and great company.

After several conversations on here, I feel the need to say that the emphasis on "great conversation" in the title is completely genuine. find a lot of my attraction develops from real conversation where two people learn and discover from one another, so if you aren't available and/or interested in the time it takes to develop that connection, I'm probably not the person for you.

That all said, I'm sure this is more a reflection of the senility reflecting my advancing age talking, and maybe this is my life's version of my very own walking uphill both ways to school, but didn't flirting/dating/seducing used to be different? There was a time in my life where people used to actually take the time to get to know each other. There was an attraction and dopamine hit that grew a little bit each day as you learned the intricacies and oddities of each other. Before long you would find yourself eagerly awaiting their next message and smiling like a dingus when it came.

Now, you put up a few pictures and tell everyone about how much you love to travel despite that permanent impression in your couch looking suspiciously familiar, your shopping list of the perfectly curated partner you've created in your mind, and you hope someone bites. But maybe, just maybe, we’re missing the good stuff: the slow burn, the dumb smiles, the thrill of finding someone who gets your oddities. Can we ditch the swipe era of dating and bring back the art of the real, unfiltered connection?

I'm here looking for what dating, romance, the whole shebang used to be. At least, what I perceive that it used to be. I don't really care what you look like. You don't need to pretend to be well-traveled or a seasoned mountain climber. What I'd really enjoy is getting to know someone, learning about your interests and intricacies and intent, and seeing where things might lead between us. If you're someone who considers yourself any sort of combination of interesting, quirky, sassy, kind, intelligent, ambitious, or spontaneous, then I would definitely love to talk to you. Let’s skip the polished profiles and get to the good part - two people, no pretenses, just connecting and seeing if we're two oddballs that happen to work for one another.

A little about me:

- I consider myself to be a very light-hearted, relaxed, and perhaps slightly sarcastic (in what I hope is an endearing way) sort of a person. I love good conversations and getting to know people with on conversations that dig deeper than perseverating over whether or not it's hotter today than yesterday. I want to know what makes you tick, your weird passions, your secret dreams, and all of those great oddities that eventually lead to a deep attraction between two people.

- Great education and a career that I'm jazzed about, and happy to tell you all about it over coffee or other equally enticing beverages, though I'm firmly on the 'work to live' end of the spectrum and enjoy my free time.

- My hobbies are all over the place, but on a day off, you can usually find me lost in a great book, playing handyman around my house, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or having some drinks over board games with a few friends.

- White, probably pretty average looking in a way that I'm perfectly content with, and don't have any particular preferences regarding your appearance or race.

- Married, but not my first time, and actively interested in meeting in-person rather than just an online thing. I don't harbor any ill-feelings about my wife but we're just not the right fit.

So, if you're near-ish my age, near-ish my location, and interested in getting to know someone with the end goal of actually meeting in person at some point, I would absolutely love to hear from you. I'm in the northern part of KS, but open to light travel if there's a connection. Drop me a line and let’s see if we can't take a step back from the Tinder era of dating?
