Ruminating on the origins of habitual porn use

I want to present my ideas and any discussion will be welcome.

I'm M26, used to struggle with pretty unhealthy porn use between the ages of 11 and 22 with occasional relapses but so far settled in not abstinence but moderation.

I came to the conclusion that I don't want to quit because for me, porn is liberating in the same way the pill was liberating for women - it gave them the ability to have sexual enjoyment without the worst of consequences. For me, I have grown very wary of the fact that women will use a man's sexual desire to manipulate him, change him, whatever - I see in that the greatest negative consequence of seeking and having sex with women for men.

So my point is, I suggest porn use can be said to not just stem from porn being easily accessible but rather from the fact it is risk-free compared to sex.

I further suggest that if we had more gender equality - less sexual restraint - more abundance of sex for everybody without prerequisites (essentially having to cater to female pickiness, to which women are forced by the society, who would otherwise see them as "easy", which would be viewed negatively), then porn use wouldn't be so common place.

My conclusion is that porn in a similar fashion to contraception is a tool in the evolution of sexual liberation of the sexes and that, if used right, consicously and with moseration, it can lead to a more just and equal society.
