Appearance
I was scrolling far back in my gallery and I found photos from when I was 12 years old, in middle school.
They were photos I took of myself with the back camera to check my face, my asymmetry, etc. There were also profile photos to see what my side profile looked like when my face was neutral or when I was smiling. Basically, they were all photos like that.
It was the same with my body: front and side photos to check how it looked, and even pictures of my weight on the scale with the date on them.
I realize that I was extremely focused on my appearance and very insecure.
I remember that in 7th grade, for my 13th birthday, I asked for a gua sha facial kit.
And now I realize that deep down, I’m still that child. I still check my side profile and my face through photos, and I’m still scared when someone takes a picture of me with their back camera.
