90s Asian planners trend

Does anyone remember in the 90s maybe the late 90s when having either Korean or Japanese stationary and planners were the rage among preteen girls? Anyone remember this? In middle school us girls would sit in a circle and exchange stationary we liked with each other. As an adult I look back on that as so interesting and strange lol.
