How different is west coast compared to east coast?

I’m 24 and skied the east coast my whole life, never been out west. I ski a small mountain (roughly 800’ vertical) that sees about 150” of snow a year. I also go to either Killington or Stowe every year for 3-4 days (typically mid February).

I’m planning a trip to snowbird for 5 days of skiing in mid March. I can’t wait to go out and I’m so excited to finally get on a true mountain for the first time. It just has me wondering how different is east vs west coast skiing. I know this is an unusually bad year but I’m hoping it’ll turn around by then.

I’m just so sick of east coast conditions. Of the ~8 Vermont vacations I’ve had, 1 of them has had good weather/conditions. It always manages to rain, be sheer ice, or both and it’s just annoying the hell out of my dad and I. Like we’re in killington right now and today was amazing for about 4 hours and then everything turned to ice by noon. Now it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow and then go down to the single digits and freeze over by Tuesday.

Sorry if I sound b*tchy, but my dad and I are sick of spending all this money on trips and then the weather/conditions never turn out. We just can’t wait to get out west
