Games freeze upon launch

occasionally I am able to play a game ot two, but about 90% of the time, as soon as i click on it to launch, it will load for a second and I will get audio but then the picture freezes. Ive paid for help and confirmed nothing is wrong with my components. No viruses or issues causing any sort of issue on my pc, just simply when loading a game it will not work.
