From 320+ mocks to real GRE 300 help me figure out where to improve
I took the GRE yesterday and scored 148V 152 Q. I was aiming 320+ and I was quite confident going in, I had been scoring 319-324 in mock tests. I’m from engineering bg and not a native speaker. I had watched videos from 1 month plan, memorised all 34 vocabulary groups ( 98% recall) , practiced over 550 quant questions, 280 verbal practice questions including timed tests. In Quant Section 1, I guessed two questions, but apart from that, I feel sure about my answers. My confidence burgeoned when questions in sec1 quant felt easier than gregmats (one of the questions were 1/3^x=81 x=?). However, Section 2 felt even easier thats when I realized I fumbled section 1 pretty bad.
I feel like retaking the test, but I’m unsure where exactly should I focus more. Maybe I need more targeted practice. Based on this experience, what do you think I should work on more? On top of that, I have to wait 21 days to retake the GRE, and most of the universities I was planning to apply to have a January 15 deadline. I am genuinely confused about what to do next. And yes, confused as in bewildered, befuddled, muddled, confounded, nonplussed, and flummoxed. My mind automatically starts listing synonyms the moment I think of a word. pheww GRE PTSD
