Tales of DnD?

Hey everyone I've been lightly brainstorming about how to do a Tales of DnD campaign. Has anybody ever done this before? If so, how did you approach it? How did you do the classes and combat to reflect the LMBS? What about the story, accounting for players choices and not railroading them? I feel like a Tales of style campaign would be fun, but I lack some experience hence why I'm asking!
