About Me! (Please Read)
Hello! Welcome to my profile. I'm Lyon, a 21-year-old RPer/Writer in EST/ GMT-5 with just about five years of RP experience. I'm writing this post in the hopes that those who see my posts in RP subs can read it and know a bit more about me!.
We'll begin with some of my rules, guidelines, preferences, etc.
- Of course, I require everyone with whom I RP to be over 18. Beyond that, I welcome all ages, gender identities, and experience levels to reach out and see if we click!
- Until an RP actually begins, I am ghost-friendly! I really don't think you owe me an explanation if you decide you don't wish to continue our conversation. Once our story begins, though, if you decide you would no longer like to continue, then that's also ok! Just please let me know, and I'll, of course, extend the same courtesy.
- Like I said when I introduced myself, I am in the US East timezone, so keep that in mind while we talk! As long as we have good communication, I don't care where you are.
- I only RP in English. While I'm conversational in a couple of other languages, I am nowhere near confident enough in my skills to write in them. Sorry!
- On my style of writing: I write in third person, in the past tense, and I humbly request that you do the same when we write together.
Now, let's move on to what I actually like to write about! I am a senior anthropology student and a fledgling archaeologist (I have done fieldwork in the US and Greece during the summers!), and I would definitely say that affects my writing style. I love world-building, and dreaming up nations, ethnicities, cultures, and histories are my absolute favorite things to do. With that in mind, I do usually tend to gravitate towards more "grounded" worlds, ones that lack magic systems, fantasy races (orcs, elves, dwarves, etc.), and things of that nature. When it comes to stories taking place in our real world, I prefer to stay within the realm of historical fiction rather than alternate history and the modern day. Thematically, I love to write thrillers, and my stories often revolve around politics, war, and civil unrest. As a final note, here is the list of fandoms I would be comfortable writing in:
- Star Wars (Age of the Empire and Early New Republic, 19BBY - ~7ABY)
- ASOIAF
- Fallout (I've played 3, New Vegas, and 4 extensively)
- The Elder Scrolls (love this series, but admittedly have never actually done an RP in it.)
You'll notice that my aversion to magic and fantasy races only extended to worlds that I create. I'm open to RP in fandom universes that include those aspects, and I'm also willing to hear out any worlds that you've created that involve those things!
My characters can be diverse, certainly, but I'll be the first to admit that I have some favorite tropes and characteristics I like to incorporate. Most of my characters are aged between 18 and 24 years old, and are almost always women. I'll list some of my favorite characters I've played here:
- Lucianna Seranno: Oh sweet Lucia. She grew up in rural poverty before being selected to attend the Imperial Military Academy. She graduated and served in the Imperial Marines, growing increasingly disillusioned with the Imperial Royal Family and the concept of Empire as a whole. A civil war broke out on her 22nd birthday, and she found herself fighting against the Monarchists alongside a coalition of Constitutional Monarchists, Republicans, and many more. My oldest and most beloved OC. Known in earlier versions of her character as Amelia Castille and Carmen Alvarez.
- Tyene Martell: A character I made for an ASOIAF group RP server that unfortunately died out. First daughter of Doran Martell, and now Heiress of Dorne following the death of her three elder brothers in combat with stormlanders. Merchant Mariner who spends most of her time at sea, and is fueled by wanderlust and a desire for revenge, and not much else.
- Josie Douglass: An archaeologist and recent Stanford grad, class of 1975. Gets caught up in plenty of Tomb Raider/Uncharted-style adventures.
- Rico Sundqvist: Daughter of Death Watch mercenaries born during the clone wars. Raised by Fenn Rau and the Protectors. An ace pilot who worked as a caravan guard for a company based out of Chandrila before joining the Rebel Alliance.
- Carmiya Skif: Daughter of the Vice-Chancellor of the CIS Senate who went into hiding following the clone wars, changed her name, and enlisted in the stormtrooper corps to keep herself alive. Possibly the least enthusiastic stormtrooper ever. Only convinces herself to stay because she cares about the troops under her command.
That's all from me, for now! If you decide to reach out, and you want to give yourself a little boost, tell me your favorite color in your first message to me, and I'll try to prioritize responding to you. :)
