I've recently started playing Bloodborne, and why was the Bloodthirsty Beast so difficult compared to the rest?

I'm just starting out and I've already killed the priest, the clerical beast, Amelia, the witches, Ludwig, the living flaws, and Maria, all on my first try, except for the bloodthirsty beast that killed me about 10 times. Am I doing well for a beginner?
