Rural and small town conservatives, how has home changed over time?
I was listening to a podcast that brought up the Democrats effective abandonment of rural and small town America in favor of the urban and suburban voting blocs and how that has tied in to industries shifting or leaving, social agendas changing, the hollowing out of communities, etc. It had me wondering how life in these places has changed over time from a personal level view and not a macro economic one, it's easy to talk about these shifts over decades in broad strokes but it strips a lot of the humanity out of it.
So I'd invite you to describe your/your family/your community's experience on this and maybe how that has intersected with policy over the years. And to be clear, I don't come into this expecting that every perspective will be a sob story but just that there is likely a well of feeling on the subject that isn't often given an open ended question to work off of.
